Jesus had a way of building a relationship with sinners, without condemning them, giving them an example of holiness, but fully convincing them that He loved and cared for them as individuals. He is the guy I want to follow as my example.
I love progress. I think a country thrives best under capitalism. I frequent the businesses represented in my church because I want the businesses represented in our church to do well. They will do best when they earn more money. (Profit!) I love for people who make money to invest money in the Kingdom of God. It takes a lot of resources (money) to do the work of the church.
Susan Boyle ends the Britain’s Got Talent Show with a smashing performance! She’s a star!
What an experience today! Nate, our 17-year-old son (soon to be 18), had a minor traffic ticket for failure to yield to a yellow light and had to appear in juvenile court. We went to court and paid the ticket several months ago. I posted a blog about the first experience. Read it HERE. Today we had to reappear to prove he had been to traffic school. After 3 hours of waiting (attorneys get to go first), they saw our case, which took no more than 2 minutes, and we were on our way.
A journalism student at Ohio University, Ty Komjati, asked to interview me for a story he was writing on the state of marriage and divorce. I decided to share my answers here:
Twitter works well for me because it allows me to express my thoughts as they occur, which are also why they appear so random at times. Extroverts need to understand that even though an Introvert may not say anything, it doesn’t mean they don’t have anything to say. When I have a thought, I can quickly express it in a 140 characters or less through Twitter, which automatically updates my Facebook page. Longer thoughts can be expressed on my blog. Twitter gives me an outlet I didn’t previously have to express myself, without invading my need for introversion.
I tried to tell people. Next time follow my lead. Just kidding…kind of, but I was saying a year ago to watch out for Twitter and people kept making fun of my new hobby. Now we have Oprah, Ashton, and Andy Stanley on Twitter. Apparently it’s catching on fast in the world of sports too. Check this Tennessean story out!
Apparently people still use these. I thought paper calendars had disappeared. I am a scheduled individual, but I haven’t used one in years. I have used Google calendar, Outlook, iCal, and my Blackberry, but all online. I even had a period where I used a Lotus Spreadsheet, but I never printed it.
I love it though. I actually read her story today. She had a dream, she worked for it, and she achieved it. This is a true picture of what determination and motivation can do for someone. What I probably love more than anything was what I read recently, that Susan’s real dream was to show her mother that she could do something with her life. Love it!
