Tweet Okay, I have to be honest, I’m just being curious with this post… I tweeted yesterday about the royal wedding and the response was huge. It must be a…
Life’s not fair sometimes…is it?
Progress at any cost just isn’t available these days. Thanks to people and their set of values, playing by the rules has become a necessity…at least according to some. You may be able to fool people for a while, but you have to be transparent, authentic and genuine to be seen as a good leader these days.
What’s the world coming to?
So many things get in the way of attaining “real” progress and success.
Here are 7 examples that come to mind:
Tweet This is a picture friends sent me recently. This couple from our small group have no parents here, so we’ve adopted them and their son Luke. Luke is holding…
Tweet This is revolutionary…genius…amazing technology. I can’t wait to try out Gmail motion. Watch this quick video introduction. Then remember what day of the year I posted this!
I saw a news report on this recently. I laughed. No pun intended.
There are clubs like this around the world. Laughing yoga has become somewhat of an institution. In fact, there’s an International Laughing Yoga association. See it HERE. Go to YouTube and you’ll see all kinds of reports on laughing yoga.
Here’s an excerpt CNN did recently:
Homer says “Hey” today!
What do you want to say to Homer?
(BE NICE)
The older I get, the more I reflect on the past. Is that part of the aging process?
Recently I heard a song that was popular when I was young. I don’t know all the words to the song, so I’m not talking about the meaning of the song necessarily, but there was a line in the song that resonated with me. The song lyric has become more than a catchy tune…it’s proven to have some insight into my life. I’m sure this is true of many secular songs.
Here are three that quickly come to mind:
How happy are you in life?
I’ve shared things I read in Southwest Air’s Spirit Magazine before and recently I saw “The I Exam”. First listed in Pyschology Today, it’s a questionnaire designed to help determine how happy we are in life. While I am not sure we can measure true happiness in an 8 question survey, I thought this was interesting and worth sharing to fuel thoughts and discussion.
Here is the I Exam:
I’m doing some fun posts over the weekend in 2011 aimed at engaging my readership, but also learning from each other. One thing that has occurred to me more in recent years is how different we all are. God must love variety, because He created us all unique.
With that in mind, for the next few weeks I want to point out some of those differences. Each week, I’ll ask a few questions that have differences of opinions or preference. The more comments…the more we get to see our differences.
Here are this week’s questions:
Yesterday our small groups pastor, Ben Reed, had a “fun” voicemail from church member Estavon Williams demanding he be allowed to lead a small group. You can read about that phone message here. Ben, of course, dropped everything to get him signed up to lead.
Today I got the call. Listen to Estavon’s complaint against me by clicking HERE.
How would you respond? Now keep in mind, I’m not as nice as Mr. Reed and prefer the direct response. I plan to go running soon, with my shorts (that are not that short BTW) and don’t want to feel intimidated into recognizing everyone who happens to honk. Normally, I get lots of honkers.
What would you do?
