Here are 12 Bible verses that have helped shape my life. There are so many others, but these were the first 12 to come to mind. I memorized these years ago and they’ve been timeless truths…daily reminders…I have “hidden in my heart”. All verses are from the New International Version, because I that was the version I primarily used at the time.
You may want to pick one, write it on an index card and put it on the refrigerator, and hid it in your heart.
Here are 12 life-shaping verses:
Noah did everything just as God commanded him. Genesis 6:22
Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few. Ecclesiastes 5:2
As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 1 Peter 1:14-15
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23

Great list. Proverbs 16:9 is one of my favorites. Every time I think I have a plan in my mind, it seems the Lord leads a different direction. Proverbs 16:9 always springs to mind in those moments.

Whatever life dishes out, when I take each step with a strength and power that come from God who gave strength and power for Jesus to rise from His death, it can be overcome. Be is simple daily struggles or crushing tragedy – resurrection life is possible.
Romans 5:8 tells me so much about God, myself, and how I am to behave as one who participates on mission with Him…"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
For many years Joshua 1:9 has had a major impact: "Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Over the past year I have added Acts 20:24 = "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace."
As a baby Christian this one rang true for me and shaped my walk.
