John Maxwell Arrest Story: An Example of Honesty

John Maxwell shares a very authentic story on his blog about a stupid mistake he made that ended badly and the comments are incredibly positive.  I think this is even further example that what people really want is leadership they can trust. That includes not being afraid to tell the mistakes we’ve made.

Read the post HERE.

John Maxwell defines leadership as “influence”.  I’m most influenced by people who admit they don’t have it all together all the time.  Thanks John!  (Hope it’s okay to call you that, but I feel I know you better now.)

There's more to it I sadly beleive. Leaders are human not gods. The majority of his followers rush to his defense without ever considering this brother may have a serious need. Something very wrong is going on here and no doubt in due time it will come to light. Prayer is needed for John .he may have some problems he is masking.

What an idiot….mistake yes but never the less a stupid one.

Yeah, something isn’t quite right here….. i think there is more to this story. You mean to tell me this man didn’t know that it is a felony to have an unregistered firearm?? For someone who doesn’t “do guns” just casually accepts it and moves on with his day? It doesn’t make sense.

Sorry, but this is about more than being honest over the fact that we ‘don’t have it all together’; and from the pastor of a church that doesn’t allow their people to read Rob Bell material because they think he compromises on the truth of the Gospel? Sounds like double standards to me —
