Some experiences’s just mold your character faster than other experiences…
Today, let’s share those experiences with each other.
Let’s do that by completing this sentence:
Sometime in a person’s life they need to experience __________________________________.
I’ll share 2 of my answers as examples….
- Working in retail at Christmas…
- Having to fund a weekly payroll for other people…
What’s your experience you would share?
…holding a hummingbird in your hands.
…nurture a drug addict through the withdrawal process.
The first one grants us a glimpse into the absolute wonder, intimate, majestyof God's creation. The second one will draw us into the broken heart of God for the lost and wounded in our world.
Wow! Never done that one…either of them.
…. being out of job for a season
…. serving in a "business process outsourcing" unit working on sundays and in differing time shifts. (This cruel in India)
Yes, I've been out of work for a season…tough…
Absolutely!
…not being able to afford a cup of coffee…
and I agree with the post above about camping!
Woe! That's huge…I've been close, but not that far….
Grace!
*volunteer at a nursing home or local mission during Thanksgiving – built my servant's heart
*camping, and I mean real firewood, middle of nowhere and tent on the ground kind of camping
Yes, both of those are huge!
skydiving — adrenaline rush of a lifetime!
a rock-solid there-for-you-no-matter-what friendship — there is nothing like being surrounded by people who love you and to know that God loves you so much more!!
and working at Goodwill on half-off Saturday. it gets crazy up in Goodwill on the first Saturday of the month! just sayin'
Haven't jumped yet, but hope to someday!
Yes…not techie….but I'm impacted by it so I understand….
*working for an airline at Christmas – with extreme weather going on in the country
*volunteer to work in a homeless shelter or in a street ministry for prostitutes
Hmmm….wouldn't have thought of the airline one….makes sense

Wait table in a restaurant for a month. Or try four consecutive summers like I did. You'll learn a lot about people, patience, and relying on God to provide for you.
I've always heard that about the restaurant world.
Go white water rafting of the Fall Gauley. Gives "me" vs God and the universe some proper perspective.
Ha! I've done white water rafting! What a rush!
