I think we many times think of prayer as something we do on Sunday in church or when we are in some dire distress. When things are going well…well why pray?
I think we've lost the thought process about praying to praise Him or worship Him outside of Sunday morning or to just give Him His due for being God. I know that for years and years I would pray but it wasn't consistently or often. After things broke down in my life, one of the things that I started doing was to pray more consistently and more often. Not just for the pain in my life, but for the other reasons that I've mentioned. I feel like my relationship with Him has grown because of that.
I also think that we sometimes don't pray because we feel that He doesn't hear them so why bother. There are times in the situation I am in that I'd love to get some good word from Him and there's usually none. And that sometimes makes it hard to want to continue on… but I do because I know it's the right thing to do and that in the long run I'll be better off for it.

Tragedy often brings us to our knees.
Ouch! That’s why it’s quiet!
