For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV

When God created the heavens and the earth, the world was a perfect place. Man was in union with nature. Man had a committed relationship with his Creator God.

Then came sin! Sin separated man from God. What was once a perfect relationship was now scarred forever. Man was now subject to death, because of the plague of sin. Man could no longer reach a Holy God.

But God…. that’s right…. but God! But God so loved (insert your name here) that He gave His one and only Son! One Valentine’s Day, God threw a smelly birthday party, decorated with hay and attended by the local barnyard animals, overseen in the starlit night by a simple carpenter and his teenage wife to be. At the center of the celebration was a baby, helpless, yet powerful, weak, yet strong, unknown, yet to be the most popular figure to ever walk along the earth.

God loved you and me so much that He was willing to pay the penalty for your sin by placing His Son on a cross.

The greatest gift of Valentine’s Day is the love of God that Jesus brought to the world and allowed us to share with others!

Today you can accept His gift of love. Regardless of who you are, what you’ve done, or how desperate you feel, know right now that God, the awesome Creator, has a real, intimate, and deep love for you!

Happy Love Day!
