Have you hugged a soldier today?

You may not be able to hug one, like I’ll be able to do at church today, but you can say a prayer for one (or many). You can thank God for those who gave the ultimate price for freedom. You can never forget that someone (many) died so that you can worship freely.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Thank you God, for freedom, to worship, to live, to know you!

Who are the soldiers, present or past, you are thankful for today?

  • I'm thankful for my father and his friends. He served during WW2. The sacrifices he gave up to serve our country were great.

I would hug a soldier but since he is deployed I guess it will wait until he comes home 🙂 I am very thankful for his service, along with my grandfather, father, cousin, uncle…all have given up birthdays, anniversaries, and a few memorial days/holidays for us to have this freedom….my cousin giving his life. For them I am thankful for everyday I have of freedom. As for my soldier…thank you my love <3 see you soon.

Thanks for his service and yours. A military spouse has a hard job. Praying for you.

I'm thankful for my Uncle Jerry who served tours of Vietnam. He is bedridden today due to the after effects of that war, but still smiling when we stop by for a visit.

I'm thankful for the young men that went to school with my son (graduating high school just 2 years ago) and decided to join the military soon after….David being one of those. We keep a photo of he and my son made a few years prior when their days were carefree. We pray for our young military men and women that are fighting for us each day.

I'm praying for the young man (recent Rossview High graduate, Jacob SCHWALLIE), that lost his life on May 7th, just 21 days ago….praying for his family as well.

Growing up in a military town, Memorial Day not only a holiday, but a reflection on our freedoms and the sacrifices that so many have given…we are thankful.
