Short question…Long Answer

By April 22, 2012Culture, Funny

People ask simple questions frequently. Sometimes I have a simple answer.

Many times, however, there is a much longer story than I can answer quickly.

How did the church start?

How did you get into ministry?

How did you two fall in love?

What brought you to this church?

Why did you make that decision?

What makes you say that?

How did you learn that principle?

With almost every simple question that is asked…

I can give you a quick answer, but it’s almost always a longer story.

Are there some “long stories” in your life?

    Ron,

As a former staff member at Immanuel, I am excited at what God is doing, going to do, and already done in the life of Immanuel Baptist Church. While I cannot cast a vote, I look forward to hearing God's word through you on May 6th. Immanuel will always be home for me and I know they will roll out the "red carpet" for you and Cheryl. Welcome!

  • Some of the “long stories” in my life:

    — How did you accept Christ in your life?
    — How did you end up as a CPA?
    — What made you choose a career in NGO sector?

The thought of "God is going to do great things through our church" has been with me for long time. I am very exicited to know that you will be our pastor today. Welcome you!

Well, I have to be approved first :). But if I am it's looking like June 24th. Thanks!

Ron, thanks to you and Cheryl for taking the step to help reestablish an older church. As many are walking away from the traditional, it's a blessing to see you two going towards it…. You both are being chosen for this position for a reason, God's reason and we must not question that. I agree with the comment above, you have certainly touched many with your vision for Grace….we will miss you, but certainly welcome your continued walk with our Lord.

We will pray for you to lift so many as you have done at Grace Community. We will pray also for the message of hope, faith and love to be ongoing at Grace Community….

God is good…everywhere and at all times…through His messengers, which includes the two of you!

In the short time we have been at Grace, you have touched my heart. I have laughed and cried with you on Sundays and I truely appreciate it. I’ve only shaken your hand twice, but through your messages I feel I’ve know you for years. Bless you on your new journey and thank you for ours 🙂
