The LORD gave another message to Jeremiah. Jeremiah 18:1 NLT

In my Christian life there have been few times where I could clearly say “I heard a word from God.” Don’t misunderstand, I feel God’s leading on a consistent basis through His Word, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and through other followers of Christ, but for God to directly speak to me about something in specific terms, such as when God told Moses to lead the people from Egypt, is a rare occurrence. It’s a very humbling and welcome experience, but it certainly doesn’t happen everyday.

I’d like every week to include those times when God speaks specifically and directly to me. Wouldn’t you? Would you like to hear from God more often about specific issues in your life…you know, such as the ones you can’t find a direct answer for in the Bible? I have some very specific requests with God right now and some very specific needs. I’m certain God can answer me any number of ways, but there is something so special about having a direct word from God. I want to hear from my Maker!

Over the next few weeks I’ll be doing a late night devotional on my blog.  Join me as we draw closer to our Creator God, learn to listen to His voice, and allow Him to speak to us directly; friend to friend, Savior to servant.

What is one thing you would love to hear from God about in your life?

(These blog posts are actually the devotionals also appearing on my daily devotional site Mustard Seed Ministry)

Right now, in the midst of some very defining ways He's been revealing His working in me, my distinct cry is to hear from Him on whether He's calling me into full-time ministry. I know this time of questions, prayer, and quietness is for my good. He's using it to move me into a specific place where I'll be ready to listen when He speaks. The very human side of me wants to hear now on how He'll speak to me, if this is really Him moving me, or myself. That's the last thing I was it to take something holy and profane it by making it about me.

This is a big Amen for me. He does a pretty good job of kind of steering me or dropping things in my path that can sometimes address issues, but I agree it would be really wonderful to actually get a direct word from Him. I've never had that experience. There are some things in my life right now that getting that direct no vagueness word from Him would truly refresh my soul.

When and where. I trust Him completely with the how, what, and why. Been patiently waiting (God waiting, not just idle/doing nothing waiting) for 1 year. Would really like to know soon, He spoke clearly though -"do not be in a hurry". So that sustains me – Thanks Pastor Ron

That He truly has me covered. That I don't have to battle this by myself. That His power is sufficient.
